Mestre Nego Gato invites you to join him and share the experience of a variety of cultural activities that only Bahia can offer. Salvador, Bahia is a magical old city on All Saint’s Bay on the Northeastern coast of Brazil. Over eight percent of the current population is of African descent and these descendants of the first Africans in Brazil have held on to their culture with defiant pride. The food, song, dance, religion and language carry the indelible mark of the people of Africa. Experience the magic of Salvador yourself by traveling to Brazil with Nego Gato. Visit the neighborhoods that are the origins of this living history. Dance in the street to the Bloco Afro, Carnaval, and visit Candomble houses. Come experience what Baianos call Axe!
